
When the Drexel School of Public Health opened its doors to students for the first time in 1996, it offered a single degree program, the full-time Master of Public Health degree (MPH). Now just more than a decade later, the school offers students a choice of graduate degrees.
Degree Offerings:
All master's and doctoral programs at the School of Public Health begin in the Fall of each year. The Certificate in Epidemiology and Biostatistics begins in both the Fall and Winter term. Please check the individual program websites for specific application deadlines.
- Master of Public Health (MPH) -- Full-time program focusing on the five core disciplines of public health. Extensive practicum component. Concentrations:
- Community Health and Prevention
- Environmental and Occupational Health
- Epidemiology
- Health Management and Policy
- Biostatistics
- Master of Public Health, Executive Program (Executive MPH) -- Program designed for working professionals to accelerate or change careers in public health. Program meets one weekend a month, and makes extensive use of online learning.
- Master of Science (MS) in Biostatistics -- Prepares students to make immediate contributions to the public health and biomedical research enterprise upon graduation.
- Doctor of Public Health (DrPH) in Community Health & Prevention -- Prepares candidates for leadership roles in education, research, and practice through theoretical and content study as well as practical experience.
- Doctorate (PhD) in Epidemiology -- Full-time research-focused degree program that will prepare graduates to use the science of epidemiology in research to ask and answer substantial and innovative public health questions.
- DrPH in Health Policy and Social Justice -- Prepares students to play strong professional roles in developing and implementing policies that improve public health by focusing on those who are most vulnerable.
- Joint Doctor of Medicine and Master of Public Health (MD/MPH) -- Students in this program have enriched public health content with two years of medical school and a third year of study full-time in the School of Public Health. Students are able to enter clinical rotations and residency selection having obtained the M.P.H. degree.
Certificate Offerings:
- Certificate in Epidemiology and Biostatistics -- This program provides research-oriented training in the theory and tools of core public health disciplines. Students build the statistical background needed to conduct research and learn how to develop hypotheses, analyze data, interpret and communicate
results.
