Prof. Evans earned her B.A. in Biological Sciences at the University of Chicago, and her Sc.D in Epidemiology at the Harvard School of Public Health. Her work prior to joining the Drexel School of Public Health includes positions as Statistical Consultant for the Harvard Community Health Plan in Boston, and Project Coordinator at the University of Chicago Medical Center. She is also currently an adjunct associate member of the Fox Chase Cancer Center in Philadelphia.
Past and current research projects for which Professor Evans is or has been Principal Investigator include "Epidemiology Studies of Hepatitis B Infection and its Complications" (Bristol-Myers Squibb Pharmaceutical Research Institute) and "Prevention of Liver Cancer in East Asian Populations in the Delaware Valley" (Pennsylvania Tobacco Settlement Health Research Formula Grant)
Articles co-authored by Professor Evans have appeared in Clinical Cancer Research, International Journal of Epidemiology, Journal of Infectious Diseases, American Journal of Epidemiology, and other publications.
Research Interests: Epidemiology and natural history of Hepatitis B virus and other chronic viral infections; molecular epidemiology; biomarkers for early detection of cancer; patterns of care in high-risk populations for HBV infection.
