Public Health Symposium
The Anniversary weekend celebrations began with a special, half-day seminar focusing on current public health concerns, featuring the expertise of the renowned Drexel School of Public Health faculty and community programs from across the region. The symposium provided an excellent opportunity to share insights about public health and medicine – especially in the Greater Philadelphia Region. 10th Anniversary Gala
The Drexel School of Public Health celebrated its 10th anniversary with a gala at the National Constitution Center. Themed "Celebrating a Decade of Health and Community Service," the gala recognized the founding legacy of the "school without walls." The gala spotlit the School of Public Health’s national prominence and paid tribute to the school’s commitment to linking public health and human rights.
The event included live entertainment from Matt Duke, the Philadelphia Boys Choir and jazz vocalist Sherry Wilson Butler. Geoffrey Canada, the celebrated President/CEO of Harlem Children’s Zone in New York City and acclaimed author of Fist Stick Knife Gun: A Personal History of Violence in America, was keynote speaker.
