TITLE Executive Director of the Southeast Pennsylvania Area Health Education Center (SE PA AHEC).
DESCRIPTION OF THE ORGANIZATION The SE PA AHEC is one of seven non-profit regional corporations of the Pennsylvania Area Health Education Center (PA AHEC) program. The SE PA AHEC works with the PA AHEC, regional academic health centers, medical schools and community organizations to improve the training, recruitment and retention of qualified health professionals to areas of need in the southeast region, and to expand the collective capacity of these organizations to accomplish these goals.
QUALIFICATIONS OF THE CANDIDATE The candidate should possess a minimum of a Master’s Degree in a business or health related field from an accredited institution. A minimum of five years management experience is preferred. The candidate must demonstrate success in authoring grants and acquisition of grant funding.
SALARY Salary will be determined commensurate with education and experience.
RESPONSIBILITIES
The Executive Director is responsible for:
- Overseeing fiscal and administrative processes within the SE PA AHEC corporate office including developing, implementing and monitoring the operational and capital budget, monitoring internal bookkeeping procedures, controlling expenses and overseeing the annual audit.
- Working with the PA AHEC Program Office, cooperating medical school(s), and other funders to insure fiscal accountability including the submission, as required, of all financial and program reports.
- Human resource management of employees including recruiting, hiring, and supervising staff, making recommendations relating to the management of compensation, interpreting personnel policies, and assessing manpower needs.
- Evaluating the quality of program operations and developing health professions education and community based programs including needs assessment, budgeting, community involvement, grant writing, reviewing and executing contracts and educational agreements.
- Designing and coordinating strategic plans for the SE PA AHEC program with participation of the Board of Directors. The plan will be available to the PA AHEC system, will be consistent with the PA AHEC goals and objectives as determined by federal and state mandates, and will consider strategies for organizational growth and sustainability.
- Participating with the PA AHEC program and other regional AHECs in the statewide planning and delivery of education and services and other activities relating to statewide strategic objectives.
- Developing and maintaining a governing Board of Directors as defined by the bylaws of the corporation.
