Philadelphia Health Management Corporation (PHMC) is currently seeking an individual to fill the position of Full-time Research Assistant.
PROJECT DESCRIPTION
PHMC is seeking a Research Assistant to work full-time on two research studies dealing with HIV risk factors among Black and White men who have sex with men (MSM). One is an NIH-funded project to develop and test a community-level intervention for young MSM ages 15-29. The other is a CDC-funded study to develop an HIV Intervention for Black men who have both male and female partners.
RESPONSIBILITIES
- Report to the Principal Investigator, Co-Principal Investigator, and Vice President
- Conduct interviews and focus groups
- Locate participants for follow-up interviews
- Code and clean data
- Assist with data analysis
- Conduct library and Internet research
- Assist with the preparation of progress reports, presentations, and publications
QUALIFICATIONS
- Excellent organizational skills
- Excellent written and oral communications skills
- Familiarity with issues of LGBT communities and HIV/AIDS
- Data collection experience, including interviewing and/or focus groups
- Computer-assisted data analysis and graphics skills using packaged programs (i.e., SPSS, Excel, PowerPoint)
- Knowledge of basic descriptive and inferential statistics
EDUCATION
• BA/BS in social science, health planning/policy or related field is required
