Student Safety

Public Health students can be certain that their safety is a leading concern of Drexel University. Drexel maintains a Department of Public Safety on its Main Campus (3201 Arch Street, Suite 350, 215.895.1550), which monitors student safety on the Center City Hahnemann Campus as well. Through the Department's website, students can find information on crime prevention, reporting incidents and other related topics.

Security guards are stationed by the main entrances of the Bellet and New College Buildings on Hahnemann Campus; they are required to see University ID cards from anyone entering these buildings. The Department of Public Safety at Hahnemann can be reached 24 hours a day at 215.762.7111; if you are calling through a Hahnemann campus phone, you need only dial ext. 7111. A University dispatcher will respond to any emergency call. There are extension phones available in the hallways of the New College Building, near the elevator banks on all floors and in other locations.

Through the same number, Drexel also provides walking escorts upon request to all Hahnemann campus students (and faculty and staff), 24 hours a day, to any campus location. If you are on the main University campus, the number to dial for emergency or walking escort requests on the main campus is 215.895.2222.

Drexel provides free shuttle service between its various campuses to all students, faculty and staff. The schedules for the various routes are available online; the Dragon Route travels between the Hahnemann and Main University campuses. The shuttles run collectively between 5:45 AM and 1:15 AM. You must present your Drexel ID in order to use the shuttle.
