The mission of the Department of Community Health and Prevention (CHP) is to promote the health of communities through education, research, service and advocacy focused on the societal conditions required for people to be healthy. This necessitates long-term partnerships with communities and organizations in the context of respect for community values, strengths, and assets. Central to this goal is the understanding of
the relationship between human rights, dignity, and health status.
