"The New NHLBI Pediatric Cardiovascular Risk Reduction Guideline: Developing the Evidence Base"

Atherosclerosis has its origins in youth and this early vascular injury is related to established cardiovascular risk factors. Assembling evidence to determine the best approach to early CVD prevention is complex; the recently published “Cardiovascular Risk Reduction in Youth” guideline attempted this process. The evidence evaluation algorithm will be presented as well as important examples of how evidence was translated into the final recommendations.
