1. Review symptom presentation of autism spectrum disorders in toddlers
2. Discuss screening issues, including differentiating screening from surveillance, distinguishing efficacy from effectiveness, evaluating utility of screening tools, and public health issues around autism
3. Describe the Modified Checklist for Autism in Toddlers (M-CHAT) as a Level 1 screening tool
