Nathalie Bartle, EdD, professor at the Drexel University School of Public Health and the Chair of the school’s Maternal and Child Health Working Group will be receiving the Spirit of Motherhood Award from the Maternity Care Coalition (MCC) at the launch of the organization’s annual Celebrating Mothers campaign on March 10, 2012. Dr. Bartle is being awarded for embodying the MCC’s mission to advance maternal and child health in her profession and service to the community. The event is entitled “Escape to Hawaii” and will feature music, art, dancing, and delectable island fare with an Asian flair. Nydia Han of 6abc will emcee the event. The Celebrating Mothers campaign raises approximately $180,000 annually to help the MCC continue to improve the health and wellbeing of pregnant women, children and families through direct services, research and public policy. Event sponsors include Thomas Jefferson University Hospital, Cozen O'Connor, The Beneficial Foundation, Colliers International, Bryn Mawr Hospital, Pennsylvania Hospital, and the Department of Obstetrics and Gynecology at the University of Pennsylvania Health System.
