"Mixed Methods in Public Health Research on Service Delivery"

The integration of qualitative and quantitative methods (mixed methods) is increasing in popularity among public health and health services researchers. This presentation provides an overview of methodological issues associated with conducting mixed methods studies and examples of the application of mixed methods to public health research on service delivery.

Jennifer Wisdom, PhD
Jennifer Pelt Wisdom, PhD MPH is a licensed clinical psychologist and health services researcher who studies the organization, delivery, and quality of behavioral health treatment for children and adolescents. She earned her PhD in Clinical Psychology at The George Washington University in Washington, DC, where she focused on assessment and therapy with children and adolescents. She then obtained post-doctoral training in health services research and earned a MPH in Biostatistics and Epidemiology at Oregon Health & Science University in Portland, Oregon. She is now an Associate Professor at Columbia University and a Research Scientist at the New York State Psychiatric Institute in New York City. She recently completed a career development award from the National Institute on Drug Abuse and has expertise in quantitative, qualitative, and mixed method studies. When not working, she is a runner and intrepid traveler.
