The 3,000th caregiver was interviewed in the Emergency Department of St. Christopher’s Hospital for Children as part of the ongoing research study, the Children’s Sentinel Nutrition Assessment Program (C-SNAP). C-SNAP began interviewing in the ED at St. Christopher’s in February of 2005, and has used the important information gathered from the study to inform policy that pertains to the health and well-being of young children. With the assistance of the St. Chris site, C-SNAP has testified in front of Congress, published several peer-reviewed articles and put forth reports summarizing important findings. This past year, C-SNAP has contributed to the national debate surrounding the Farm Bill (passed by Congress this spring) and stressing the importance of assistance programs like LIHEAP or energy assistance.

Katherine Adam, Outreach Coordinator with the GROW Project since September 2007, is seen here interviewing the 3,000th C-SNAP research participant on June 11, 2008.
