October 16th is World Food Day and the GROW project is taking this opportunity to increase awareness.

Did you know...
  • In Philadelphia, 16.5% of all households with children are at risk for food insecurity? That’s almost 63,000 households.
  • 1 in 5 of all developing children between the ages of 0-2 yrs old in Philadelphia are at risk for hunger? Hunger during the critical period of rapid growth (0-3 Years) has consequences such as negative impact on a child’s development.
  • Philadelphia has one of the highest child poverty rates in the US? Approximately 1 child out of 3 lives at or below the federal poverty line.
