The GROW Clinic Celebrates Recent Graduates

1/22/2008
Philadelphia, PA

The GROW Clinic graduated 25 children from the program run at St. Christopher's Children's Hospital in Philadelphia.  The GROW Clinic is a multidisciplinary clinic serving families and their infants and toddlers aged 0 to 3 with Failure-to-Thrive (FTT) from Philadelphia and surrounding suburbs and states.  With the help of pediatrician, Dr. Hans Kersten, a nurse, a nutritionist, psychologist, social worker, and clinic coordinator, the clinic doesn't stop at simply treating FTT but rather seeks to help the whole family in order to help the child grow.

This is accomplished through a parental support group, nutrition classes, close monitoring of the child's medical progress, and helping parents in need with a variety of social service issues from housing to education, in order to provide the family with ever tool possible to ensure not just the healthy diet of the child and family, but guarantee the child will thrive after leaving the GROW Clinic.

To learn more about the GROW Clinic, please contact Michelle Renee Chyatte, MPH, Policy Coordinator for The Philadelphia GROW Project.
