Philadelphia's Youngest Graduates

6/12/2006
Today was the commencement of the two first GROW Clinic graduates Nakye and Zachary.  These extraordinary one-year-olds have succeeded in reaching and maintaining normal weight for their age.  This is a critical time in their lives for their cognitive and social development.  We are all so proud of these special boys and their families and all of the accomplishments of the GROW Clinic team, and those who support the work of the Philadelphia GROW Project.

To commemorate the occasion, Dr. Hans Kersten, Clinical Director of the GROW Clinic, Dr. Mariana Chilton, Principal Investigator of the GROW Project and Brenda Hoskins, MSW described the activities of the GROW Clinic. They asserted that the GROW Clinic ensures the right to access to comprehensive health care for the young children and their families.  Channel 6, Channel 10, CN8, and KYW News Radio were covering the breaking news.  Click here to read a transcript of Dr. Chilton's Comments.

Most importantly, the families of the two graduates spoke on behalf of their young children and their families.  See their pictures below.
