The Certificate in Global Health prepares students and practitioners to work in changing environments and with diverse populations. Students will be prepared to respond competently to the challenges presented by permeable geographics and cultural boundaries.
The Certificate in Global Health is comprised of courses and a Summer Institute. The certificate program complements currently enrolled SPH students’ departmental requirements by offering:
Ongoing discussion series/seminars
Fieldwork (practicum) experience
The certificate program provides for a comprehensive understanding of global conditions, needs and solutions that cross borders in both developing and industrialized countries and regions.
Students will gain competence in the seven domains of global health, as well as identifying and analyzing factors that generate:
Disparities in health status
Access to the health information and services, particularly for marginalized and vulnerable groups
