The Drexel University School of Public Health welcomes five new faculty members that will start during the fall 2009 term. The new faculty bring significant classroom teaching experience and a wide-variety of research prominence, including health care, drug abuse, epidemiology, health disparities and tobacco policy. Brian Lee, PhD, MHS, a new faculty member with the Department of Epidemiology and Biostatistics is featured in the photo.
The new faculty members include:
- Robert I. Field, PhD, MPH, JD, Professor, Health Management and Policy
Dr. Field has achieved an accomplished career in health care and health law. He received his PhD in Psychology from Boston University and MPH from the Harvard University School of Public Health. Dr. Field also earned a JD from the Columbia University School of Law, and graduated magna cum laude from Harvard College with an AB in Biological Anthropology.
- Brian K. Lee, PhD, MHS, Assistant Professor, Epidemiology and Biostatistics
Dr. Lee investigates contextual and environmental influences shaping neurological development, maintenance and decline. He received his PhD and MHS degrees in Epidemiology from The Johns Hopkins Bloomberg School of Public Health and graduated cum laude with an AB in Biological Anthropology from Harvard University.
- Yvonne L. Michael, ScD, SM, Associate Professor, Epidemiology and Biostatistics
Dr. Michael investigates the impact of social characteristics of communities and individuals on population health, particularly as it relates to active aging, women’s health and health disparities. She received her ScD in Epidemiology and Health and Social Behavior from the Harvard School of Public Health, SM in Health and Social Behavior from the Harvard School of Public Health and BA in Government from the College of William and Mary.
- Alison Snow Jones, PhD, Associate Professor, Health Management and Policy
Dr. Snow Jones has achieved more than 17 years of teaching and research experience in women’s health, domestic violence, alcohol policy, tobacco control policy, welfare economics and social justice. She received her PhD in Health Economics from The Johns Hopkins Bloomberg School of Public Health, and graduated cum laude with a BA in Psychology from Millersville University.
