The Office of Government and Community Relations, in partnership with the Philadelphia Housing Authority, will hold the Seventh Annual Celebrate Health Fair today, April 12, 2005 from 2-6 p.m., on 11th Street between Parrish and Poplar Streets, in the North Philadelphia community served by Drexel's Eleventh Street Family Health Services.
The School of Public Health is participating in the health fair and will have a table related to the SPH Public Health Week theme, “Lighten Up Philadelphia!” We will be providing information on obesity and BMI and calculating BMI at the health fair.
In the event of rain, the fair will be held inside the John F. Street Community Center (1100 Poplar Street). Drexel faculty and students will work at 25 education and health screening tables. There will also be music, free food and free drawings and WDAS radio will be broadcasting live from the event.
All Drexel faculty, staff and students are invited to attend the Fair and take advantage of the shuttle bus that will loop continuously on April 12 from 12:30-7 p.m., between the Bellet Building at 15th and Race Streets and the fair location at 1100 Poplar.
