Dr. John Rich Interviewed on The Charlie Rose Show

Dr. John Rich, MD, MPH appeared as a guest on the nationally-syndicated The Charlie Rose Show on January 18, to discuss his receipt of a 2006 MacArthur Fellowship for his work to help address the epidemic of urban violence. The program may presently be viewed here (Google video).

During the program, Dr. Rich described his receipt of the $500,000 MacArthur "Genius" Fellowship award and his work in addressing the primary health care needs of young men in inner cities. Dr. Rich was joined on the program by three additional 2006 MacArthur Fellows.

Hosted by acclaimed interviewer and broadcast journalist Charlie Rose, the program airs Monday through Friday on more than 200 PBS affiliates across the United States. The program is one hour in length, and appears in the Philadelphia area on WHYY-TV (Channel 12), PBS 39 and the New Jersey Network.

Dr. Rich joined the Drexel University School of Public Health in 2005 and chairs the School’s Department of Health Policy and Management.

The John D. and Catherine T. MacArthur Foundation names new MacArthur Fellows every year since 1981. Dr. Rich joins 24 other Fellows for 2006.
