Assoc. Prof. Lisa Bowleg, PhD, Dept. of Community Health and Prevention, was honored on World AIDS Day with a Red Ribbon Award from the Penn Center for AIDS Research (CFAR) Community Advisory Board (CAB). The award recognizes individuals who have made significant contributions in the field of HIV/AIDS in the following categories: Policymaker, Researcher, Community Member, and Youth. 2008 is the fifth successive year in which CFAR-CAB has given the Award. Prof. Bowleg was recognized for her research.
The award ceremony took place on World AIDS Day, Monday, December 1, 2008 in Conversation Hall, inside Philadelphia's City Hall at Broad and Market Streets. Other recepients included William Brawner, Mark Davis, Shahdae Holland, Michael Melvin and David Acosta.
