Beatriz Reyes, MPH, earned a Bachelor of Science in Zoology from the University of Oklahoma and a Master of Public Health in Health Promotion and Education at East Carolina University. Her past experiences in the Washington Internships for Native Students (WINS) and the Hispanic Association of Colleges and Universities (HACU) programs have encouraged her to pursue plans for a career in civil service.
Her current research interests center on health policy and cultural competency in relation to childhood nutrition and violence among youth. Additionally, Beatriz is a recipient of a Gates Millennium Scholarship, which continues to support her as she prepares for civil service and teaching at a school of public health.
