Co-Directors, Dr. Peter Rumm (USA, Drexel University School of Public Health) and Dr. Elisaveta Skikova (Macedonia), jointly hosted a NATO-ASI Course titled Strengthening National Public Health Preparedness and Response for Chemical, Biological, and Radiological Agent Threats, in Macedonia from June 20-29, 2006.

The Course covered the following topics:
1) A Disaster Support Course sponsored by the American Medical Association. This two day course will provide an overview of preparedness.
2) Special Emphasis Training and Lectures on preparedness for Chemical, Biological, Radiological and Nuclear Weapons, and Conventional Blasts
3) Special Topics:
a) Risk Communication and Communication Strategies
b) Law and Health Policy Considerations
c) Introduction to Incident Command Management
4) A Table Top Exercise – A hands on training and use of what has been learned and shared by participants and faculty.
Faculty will be comprised of recognized leaders from the United States, Italy, Macedonia, and at least one other country. Participants are also invited to submit an abstract to present a 30 to 60 minute lecture on a relevant topic.
If you are interested in participating, please notify the course directors immediately, as funding for participants is expected to fill rapidly and will be on first available basis of qualified applicants (with some potential restrictions on limitations from participants from any one country). In addition, please send either a C.V. or a biographical sketch and an email address describing your interest and previous knowledge of the topics.
