Swine Flu Investigation

The Department of Health and Human Services, reacting to the discovery of the swine flu virus (swine influenza A) in the United States, declared a nationwide public health emergency on Sunday, April 26.

Updated information can be found from the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC) and at PandemicFlu.gov, "One-stop access to U.S. Government swine, avian and pandemic flu information."

Dean Marla Gold of the Drexel School of Public Health discussed the spread of swine flu in a panel held by Philadelphia's local ABC-TV affilliate on the evening of April 27. Please click here for full transcript.
