Drexel-led Network Launches Most Comprehensive Study of Earliest Possible Causes of Autism

EARLI studyThe Drexel SPH is leading a network of autism researchers from across the country in one of the largest research studies of its kind to investigate early risk factors for Autism Spectrum Disorders. The network, called the Early Autism Risk Longitudinal Investigation (EARLI), is considered to be one of the best-equipped studies to discover biological markers and environmental risk factors for autism.  Drexel will also be recruiting 300 participants in the study from the region.  Dr. Craig Newschaffer is the study's principal investigator. SPH Takes Action on Influenza A (H1N1) Preparedness

The SPH is taking action on the outbreak of the swine-origin influenza A (H1N1). The school has worked tirelessly to provide the community with important informational resources both online and through the media. The Center for Health Equality, on its online national resource center, spotlighted resources on emergency planning for flu epidemics in culturally diverse communities. The Drexel University School of Public Health is offering the first undergraduate public health course in the University’s history this term, school officials recently announced. The launch of a new undergraduate course in public health at Drexel University is not only a milestone for the university, but is part of a growing movement of undergraduate public health education across the country.
